Frequently Asked Questions

Why call our project Sapere?

Sapere has two meanings in Latin, it can mean flavor and it can also mean wisdom.

We are Homo Sapiens, the discerning apes.

One of the first aspects of our wisdom was being able to distinguish between plants we could eat and plants that would poison us. Eventually, we learned to not only survive, but to enjoy food.

In order for us to supply delicious coffees to the world, we not only have to know about flavor, we also have to put together all our knowledge, both what we have studied and what we have learned through experience, to be wise in our judgements; know who to work with, how to do it.

Our goal is to combine flavor with wisdom to be able to supply the world's best coffees to our people.
